Visit the minister or registrar and set the date. 
Book your civil ceremony and /or reception at the venue and pay the deposit.
Compile the guest list.
Choose bridesmaids, flower girl(s), Best Man & Ushers.
Organise all the wedding clothes.
Book your honeymoon.

12 MONTHS before the wedding

A further deposit to the Venue for the reception.
Buy some wedding insurance before you start buying all the expensive elements. 
Make a scrapbook of ideas, including flowers, colours, and themes.

5 MONTHS

Book Wedding Car(s).
Book Photographer.
Book Video Company.
Book your DJ or wedding Entertainment.
Have fittings for your dress and those for bridesmaids.
Shop for going away clothes including underwear.
Order wedding invitations.
Make a draft Invitation list.
Reserve items to be hired.
Source or make your Favours.
If you’re having a Church of England ceremony, you need to give notice of the marriage to the superintendent registrar.
Choose a Gift List.

4 MONTHS

Order your Wedding Cake.
Organise the Men’s suits.
Buy Wedding Ring(s).
Order Wedding Stationary, for ceremony and reception.
Confirm all service details with your minister or the registrar.

3 MONTHS

Get your order of service sheets printed. Ensure you proof read beforehand.
Discuss your wedding breakfast menu with the Caterer or Venue.
Send out Invitations, including Gift List information.
Buy Presents for your Attendants.
Organise all Wedding Flowers.
Confirm Reception details.
Buy a Guest Book.
Post Wedding Invitations.
Book your First Night Hotel.
Check your Honeymoon plans, including passports and travel insurance.
Make a note of gifts and who sent them as they arrive.
Buy your shoes and wear them in a little with your socks on.

2 MONTHS

Organise accommodation for guests.
Make a list of acceptances and refusals.
Buy cake boxes for those unable to attend.
Arrange a seating plan for the reception.
Buy your bridesmaids’ dresses and get any alterations done.
Go to the hairdressers with your head wear & book final appointment.
Practice any new make-up techniques.
Check all wedding clothes are near completion.
Prepare a newspaper announcement of your wedding if required.

1 MONTH

Send thank you letters for wedding presents received.
Chase up any unanswered invitations and make notes.
Confirm guest numbers with your venue or caterers and write up your seating plan.
Check that your dress will be completed on time with all alterations made. 
Have a final fitting with your underwear, accessories and shoes.
Finalise transport for the day.
Write place cards or send them to the Calligrapher.
Supply a shot list for the photographer.
Choose your gifts for the wedding party.
Remind your father, fiancé & Best Man to write speeches.

3 WEEKS

Give final numbers of guests to the Hotel in writing 21 days before the day.
Balance of payment to Venue for reception.

1 WEEK

Have a rehearsal of wedding ceremony.
Check Florist, Photographer, Cake Supplier, DJ / Entertainment & Wedding Transport.
Check all your wedding clothes.
Pack for the honeymoon.
Check booking for a final hair and make-up appointments.
Arrange for the cake to be delivered safely to the reception. 
Arrange to have going away clothes & suitcases taken to venue.
Double-check your outfit.
Practice with your tiara and veil.
Have a Hen night and Stag night!

THE DAY BEFORE

Send Your Fiancé a Gift – Cufflinks maybe. Give it to the Best Man to give to the Groom on the morning.
Have a Manicure, Pedicure & Massage to relax yourself.
Send your Honeymoon suitcase to the Hotel where you are staying.
Go to bed early so that you look your best the next day.
